WT Pic

The Welcome Table was founded in 2001 with the mission to provide a good meal along with friendly company to anyone who wishes to attend free of charge. Every Monday night from 5:30pm to 7:00pm, volunteers serve meals for anyone and everyone from the greater Vermillion community. The dinner is served at the First United Methodist Church, located at 16 North Dakota in Vermillion. Volunteers plan, prepare, serve, and share the meal with Welcome Table guests. For more information on volunteering or donating, visit http://www.welcometable.org or email info@welcometable.org. If you would like to be a Welcome Table guest, just stop by on a Monday evening – everyone is welcome!

Run for Your Life Benefit 5k

The benefit run was started 4 years ago by the medical students at the Sanford School of Medicine. The goal of the benefit run is to raise money for a local charity, have the race be supported by as many local businesses as possible, and to promote healthy lifestyles in accordance with the goals of the SDSMA and AMA. Last year’s race had over 150 participants on a cool April morning. Each year we select a new benefactor of the proceeds. The Vermillion/Clay County EMS, the Clay County Volunteer Fire Department, and the Domestic Violence Safe Options Services have received proceeds in the past.
